My leadership philosophy is...
Becoming a great leader is a lifetime of work. It is not something learned overnight, in a day, or even in a year. Demonstrating leadership is a process that starts at the top, from a leader and works its way down to its followers. Leaders need to posses certain traits and follow through with their vision. Being a leader means you're willing to make mistakes and knowing you will need to learn from them.
I believe my philosophic style is theory Y. People do not dislike work; doing work is as natural as play. People will show responsibility and self control towards goals to which they are commited. My style of leadership is democratic. I believe my followers are capable of working on their own, I trust they are doing things properly. If they are not productive, I can quickly become a more authoritarian style of leadership to exert influence and control over group members. I strongly believe in task-oriented style to achieve my goals while still maintaining a concern for people. Reaching a goal is a positive expression of who I am. I want to be successful and achieve my goals, my work is where I find my meaning.
What makes me a distinctive leader is my core leadership skills and my traits. I am intelligent, confident, determined, honest, and have a lot of integrity. I strive in having conceptual skills, involving cognitive aspects of leadership, such as concepts and ideas. I am able to problem solve, strategic planning, and creative a vision to achieve my goal as a leader. I have good reasoning ability and always feel self assured, I maintain a positive attitude and provide constructive feed back towards my followers. I am very focused and aware of my surroundings. I know where we need to go and how to get there. I show initiative and constantly persist excellence even if I have to face adversity head on.
The most valuable asset of being a leader is honesty and integrity. A leader must be honest with his followers. Without honesty you will have no one to stand behind you. Another valuable asset is integrity, once a leader compromises his or her integrity, it is lost. A leader must have the trust of followers and therefore must display integrity. A leader who is centered in integrity will become more approachable. People will feel safe to share ideas and problems and help solve for solutions.
I am looking forward to my new leadership role and show my leadership skills to my co-workers, family, friends and teammates and one day turn them into great leaders of their own.
